Well, it's hard to argue with the quality of this Micro Flex 200mm kick scooter. It is one of the better value for money Vs quality scooters for adults available right. It's not cheap but it is a very high quality product. Micro Kickboard make this model in Black and Blue, they used to do it in Pink but that seems to have been discontinued now.
A nice touch is that they have added an air-tire model to the Flex range - the Micro Flex Air. The Air has two air-filled tires for even better suspension and you can even use it off road because it's pretty much like a dirt-scooter.

Let's be clear, you will love the high quality and durability of the Micro Flex Blue that makes it one of the best kick scooters on the market. In fact I must confess that this is a real upgrade from the Razor A5 Lux adult scooter.
When we looked at the Razor A5 Lux Scooter review we knew it was great as a fairly budget introduction to adult scootering, but if you want lasting quality (with of course a higher price) then it's hard to do better than the award winning Micro Flex Blue. Here's why...
Wheels
The Micro Flex 200mm is so-called because of it's 200mm wheels. This is important because the larger than normal scooter wheels really do provide a smoother and faster ride. Not so great if you are a kid performing stunts at the park, but for commuting and chasing after kids in the park the large wheel size really is an essential feature.
Micro Kickboard describe these wheels as 'high rebound wheels' which means that they absorb shocks and bumps and then bounce back into shape quickly. They have an extra thick PU shore coating which provides a tough external layer and performance-grade bearings that resist high pressures, creating a 'supremely quiet, quality ride'. I can vouch for this as I found this as it's
one of the best adult scooters I have ever ridden
and that is due, in large part at least to the spoked poly wheels and tires.
Headset (Handlebars)
The handlebar grips are the first thing to mention. The Micro Flex Blue handle grips feel very high quality and comfortable rubber that absorb shocks well. This is important on a long ride as most of the road surface bumps are absorbed by your hands as you grip the bars.
I would say that it wouldn't be necessary to wear gloves on this adult scooter as it's designed for comfort. Just underneath the bars are the clips used for the handlebars when the scooter is folded. The clips keep the bars from dangling around and help make the scoot a very compact and carry-able item when folded.
Handlebar Stem
I am about average height at 5 feet 9 inches and I don't have the handlebar stem extended all the way up. It looks to me like if you were over 6 feet tall, then there would still be enough height in the stem to manage comfortably. The stem will extend to a maximum of 37 inches and is the same cool blue color as the ret of the frame.
A quick-release locking clip holds it in place while you are moving and is used to secure the stem when in use and to push it back into the stem-frame when it's collapsed and folded.
Scooter Deck
The Micro Flex Blue Deck is one of the features that makes it on of the best adult kick scooters on the market. Similar to the micro kick scooter for kids, this adult model has a flexible deck. I have to say that it really makes a difference to the smoothness of the ride.
I was a little unsure about that at first because I am slightly (Ok, I'm actually quite a bit) too heavy for my height and I didn't think the deck would flex properly for me when I was riding.
However, au contraire I thought when riding over the bumpy sidewalk! It absorbs shocks like a bouncy shock absorber and makes for a fun ride. The deck really works well because it's designed in the style of a flexible ply-wood skateboard deck.
The plywood flexes like a stiff spring, is unbreakable and screwed down onto the rigid aluminum frame which provides the stability at each end. To prevent wear on the deck, it's covered in durable grip-tape and has aluminum foot plates at each end where your feet will apply the most pressure.
There is a small, sprung kick stand underneath the deck on the right hand side which is useful for standing up the scooter, but I don't use that much and usually just lean it on something instead.
Brakes System
The brake is probably the hardest part to get to grips with
on this adult scooter and although it works well, it took a little time to get used to operating it. I would advise someone to practice finding the brake button with their pushing foot before careering down a long hill at speed.
The brake button is not easy to locate with your foot as you ride until you get used to it. this can result in braking too late and therefor bumping into something. Not good! Just get used to it first, that's all I'm saying. It works well when you get the hang of it.
As one of our visitors pointed out in the comments below (thanks Mu!). The Micro-Flex Kick Scooter does not have a hand brake. This means that you are limited to using the rear foot brake which may mean that you cannot stop as quickly as you would like in some circumstances! This makes wearing safety gear all the more important. I have to add that this lack of hand brake probably means that it's not the ideal commuter scooter. Head on over to one of our other adult scooter page here if you want a great adult commuter kick scooter.
Folding Mechanism
I like the folding mechansm as it's quick and easy. However, this was not the experience of a friend who tried to pop up the scooter! It seems that it's not so intuitive, perhaps a bit like those baby buggies. Some mom's can collapse them with one hand while others struggle to do it with both hands and a helping hand from a stranger!
The instructions and photo's don't describe the handle bar folding mechansim that well either, but it is simple so don't over think it. Just squeeze the buttons! when you get this scooter you will know exactly what I mean!

Overall Ride
I find it hard to criticize this adult kick scooter as it really is one of the best, if not the best adult kick scooter out there but there are a couple of small niggles. But first the praise.
The overall build and materials quality is superb and it will last and last. Anyone who has bough their kids the mini micro scooter from the same manufacturer, Micro Kickboard will testify to this as the Micro Flex Blue is the same in every respect. In fact, it's even better as it's built for adults, all aluminum and wood and the foot plates, precision engineering and screw-plates are just great quality.
I won't writie a list of pro's and con's here because the pro's are all above and the con's are only 2 small points that are more to do with practice that poor design.
You've guessed it because I have already mentioned the con's above: The folding mechanism might take a few tries to get it right and the rear brake definitely takes some practice to locate the button. That's all, though.
I love this Micro Flex
and will continue to rise it for years to come. It deserves it's 5 Star rating and it is without doubt one of the best adult kick scooters on the market!
New Micro Flex Scooter Models
I have to also mention that Micro used to make the Micro Lady Flex Scooter which is a little bit more feminine styled than the models reviewed here. For example, the Lady Flex Scooter has a more styled front fender with a rear brake that is slightly easier to operate. However, I haven't seen that model available in the USA for a while and it apears to have been discontinued now. It had some pink styling on the deck and the stem for a bit more of a girly flavour. It is still a Micro Flex Scooter in every sense of the word, though. Just something a little more refined for Ladies and grown-up girls.
The best addition to the Flex range would be the Micro Flex Air, which is identical except for the addition of it's air tires for off-road use and a more bouncy suspension while riding. The Air tires will absorb a lot of the road bumps and provide for a smother ride while also providing some grip in wet conditions which the regular urethance tires do not.
